SLJ week 1

Hey bloggers
This is what I have to do.
For this activity, make a list of ten food items that you could take with you. Please think carefully about what you will take as you won’t have access to a refrigerator or freezer while at sea. Please explain why you would select each item.
On your blog, post your list of 10 food items you would take on an ocean voyage and the reasons why you chose these items.
It is difficult to think about what you want because you cant just take anything you have to take things that last.
Here is my list.
  1. I would probably bring caned food because they don't go off easily.
  2. veges because you can eat them raw
  3. fruit I love fruit and it is helpful because it can give me energy.
  4. Water and a gallon of it because you need water to live.
  5. lollies because I need something nice to eat. and some sugar
  6. frozen grapes because there are lot of them
  7. fishing rods so I can catch fish
  8. bread and jam though I have to keep the bread airtight.
  9. I would bring a nut mix so I can snack on something.
  10.  Lastly I would bring Ice tea for something else to drink.

SLJ Hero for a day

Hi Blogggers
Today I will be thinking about if I could have three super powers what would they be?
For my first superpower it would probably be Fire. Fire because I can Fly by putting my fire underneath me and boom I'm flying and because I could shoot people its the power that gets the most wow!

For my second power it would be shape shifting because I could turn into a cheater eagle fast things strong things like a bull Rhino I could be disguised as other humans so that would be pretty cool.

For my third power it would be the power of being god in every video I think you will know why I would want that.

Though it would be a lot of responsibility though it would be cool blog ya later!

This week we have been making pillows with inspiring messages on them. We decided to do this for Mental Health and Inquiry. We had to get a spare pillow case from home then we had to find a design for our pillows. I made mine like a Captain America Shield. My message is "Your spirit is your true shield". It was blue in the middle then red then black and a bit of white then red and lastly the words around it.
I will update you with photos when I can.

Big Foot Bike Adventures

This week we had Big Foot Bike Adventures. they came in and taught us the different parts of a bike and how to ride a bike they taught us how to check bike and your helmet so you can know if it still works. The first lesson was the different parts of the bike and how to check if it works. They brang bikes in a truck. I brought my own bike. there were a lot of games we played like we had to stay in a box that got smaller and smaller and the last person riding wins. It was really fun because a lot of people who didn't know how to ride a bike learnt how to.

Futsal

Futsal!
For Term 4's sport we are doing Futsal. Futsal is basically indoor football. We have two coaches Kingsly and Leon. They taught us headers, juggling, dribbling and more skills to become pro Futsal players. We do games like Shark Attack were you have to keep your ball without it being taken by the sharks. We also played Head Catch, where if Kingsly or Leon says head we have to catch the ball and when he says catch we have to head the ball. And last of all we played Number Tag. We will be doing a few more lessons and they are very fun!

Supermarket Trip

Yesterday we went to the Supermarket in school! We had food for health come in they taught us about packaging of food and the different types of food we should be eating. For the first lesson Isabel (our teacher) taught us about the food packaging and different types of food sections. For the second lesson she taught us about packaging of food we each got a box of cereal and compared it with what was on th box, the healthiest pne was oats. For our third lesson we got to go to the supermarket. We were given sheets to write down healthy snacks and un healthy snacks we also had to do the same with dairy food so we wrote down the numbers for milk and ice cream.  Then we did a fruit colour thing where you have to write down different types of green fruits and red yellow and more. At the end we all got given a lunch box. We went back to school and were ready for lunch. Over all it was a very fun day and I enjoyed going to the supermarket.

Beach Clean

Beach Clean up
On the last day of term three we decided to do a beach clean. We marched up the streets to get to Waikowhai Bay. We had our signs that we used for the climate change march. Once we got to the beach we split into groups to cover more of the beach. It was really fun because: one, you get to go to the beach and two, you're helping the community by picking up rubbish. The sad thing was that there was lots of rubbish like tiny little pieces of plastic, beads and a lot of chip packets. What we can do now is stop littering and that will let us swim in any kind of water. When we were done we walked back to school and were ready for the school holidays!

Cross Country Zones!
Today we had Cross Country Zones! It was a very windy, rainy and sunny day like on off on off all day. It started of with the year four girls then the year four boys after that we had the year five girls and the year 5 boys after. Finally we had the year six girls and then my year level the year six boys.
We had our Cross Country zones at Monty Cecelia park/Killer hill. We call it Killer hill because there is a hill that is very steep and we have to go up it 3 TIMES! We had to go on the course three times. It is very Tiring and was much harder then the school one! As soon as my race started I tried to pace myself my heart was pumping and I was getting very tired VERY once i was up to my last lap and on the finish line I sprinted and came thirteenth. Once we got back to school we were allowed to have a Ice Block "mm"  Over all the day was very fun except for the rain and wind.

Cross Country

On Wednesday the 11th of September we had Cross Country! Instead of having a normal Cross Country we decided to make it different by having a sponsor thing where you ask people if they will donate your school money if you do the Fun Run/Cross Country. The money goes towards your school our school is trying to raise money for a shade cover for our court. However you can win prizes if you raise enough money it starts form slime to a X Box!

All the year 6 had to be in another year level to help out. We went around in groups to different stations like obstetrical courses and skipping and a lot more we had 15 minutes in each station. My favourite part was the run. I came third place it was very tiring and very fun. Over all I loved the day. Look out zones here I come!

Maori God Art

Hi Bloggers!
This week we are working on drawing a Maori God for Te Reo Maori. The God has to look a bit like a God but it is your Imagination. When we have finished the design of our God we will make a better copy. We had the choice to chose out of

  1. Tane - God of Nature
  2. Tangaroa - God of Ocean/Sea
  3. Rongo - God of Peace and Architecture
  4. Haumia - God of Uncultivated Food and Wild Food
  5. Tu - God of Man and War
  6. Tawhirimatea - God of Wind and Storms.
I chose to draw Tawhirimatea. I decided to make mine a mixture of Thor and Tawhirimatea because I guess he is the God of Storms and there is lightning in storms.
I tried to make mine look like a Maori God so instead of a hammer I chose a hook.
Here is my work in progress.

School CAMP!

Hey Bloggers last week we had camp!
Leading up to camp
I was so exited when I woke up in the morning I was like the speed of lightning getting ready because I was so exited. We had to get to school by 7:30 because the bus left at 8:15
First of all to get ready we had to ...

  1. Make sure we had all the gear.
  2. Pack all of it in to our suit case.
I felt very exited and scared at the same time of falling in case I fell on my bum.
It took me a bit of time actually figuring out that were going to camp because we were just talking about it until that day.

At Camp
As soon as we got to The Crossing we unpacked our bag and had dinner.
That night for dinner we had sausages and garlic bread My favourite was the garlic bread. At bed time we talked for five minutes  and told spooky story's.

After we were ready to go to bed we got to go into the games room. It had a pool table a table tennis table and a hidden movie room Inside a cupboard. There were couches and a massive TV and bean bags.

Snow!
We woke up at six in the morning to have breakfast and get ready to leave for Mt Ruapehu!
I had cornflakes for breakfast then we got into our hot snow gear. After that we assembled into our groups. We were group pink.
This camp was at Mt Ruapehu where we learnt how to ski and snowboard. We got the choice  and I decided to go snowboarding. We picked it up in a couple of minutes. After our lesson we got free time on the slopes which was my favourite part!

You Should GO!
If you are a year 3 or 4 reading this make sure to consider telling your teacher to think about going to the snow because it is AWESOME! If you don't have enough money try to save up because it is worth it.

Camp Feelings

CAMP!
This year for our school camp we are going to Mt Ruapehu! We will get to go skiing or snowboarding. Here are my emotions.
I am feeling worried because I will stay up too late and won't go to sleep so I wont have enough energy to go snowboarding 😢 😢 😢 😢.

I am also very excited because we get to go snowboarding!!!😄😄😃😂.

I am very excited to be going in the same room as my friends and I get to have a double sleepover sort of.

I think the most thing that will worries me will be going snowboarding because I will probably fall of a lot!

I will gain much more confidence by going to the mountain because I will be away from my parents.

I think I will feel GREAT! because it sounds like a really fun thing to do well It is.

Squash

Hi bloggers! This term we had squash for our kiwi sport. For those who don't know what squash is, it is where you use a racket and you hit it on the wall to your partner. You start of with a serve that you have to get between two lines. After that your partner has to get it and hit it back, then basically you keep doing that until someone misses the ball that gives you opponent a point.

We got to do championships and see who could do the longest rally with their buddy. Our team got a score of thirty-two and wrecked everyone in our class. We were split into two groups. The other group were doing hand eye coordination skills. Overall I loved doing it was really fun.
At the end it was Miss Daly, our Teacher, playing Faris, my team member,
and Miss Daly WON!

Mud Run

Last Term we had a Mud Run, I think you know what a Mud Run is because of the title you basically do a run in mud. And trust me it sounds fun but you will regret it because you get SO muddy it is not fun. At the start there is a dance to get warmed up and the person running it is a Clown! There are spot prizes at the end, and you all get a bottle of Loaded. Over all it was a fun day for some but, not me just a warning.

Litter Blitz

Hi bloggers for the start of Term three. We went on a Litter Blitz. A Litter Blitz is an event where you pick up rubbish. You may be thinking - yuck you wouldn't want to do that! Well there is a catch, the organisation hid six golden tickets and they were all over the street where we were looking for rubbish. If you found the golden ticket you got a prize. After that the environmental group went back to order the rubbish and to weigh the bags. There were lots of newspapers and a few weird objects. Someone in our class found $20 dollars! I felt great. It was a good idea to pick up rubbish because there was a lot of rubbish everywhere. Here are some photos.
