Cross Country Zones

Cross Country Zones!
Today we had Cross Country Zones! It was a very windy, rainy and sunny day like on off on off all day. It started of with the year four girls then the year four boys after that we had the year five girls and the year 5 boys after. Finally we had the year six girls and then my year level the year six boys.
We had our Cross Country zones at Monty Cecelia park/Killer hill. We call it Killer hill because there is a hill that is very steep and we have to go up it 3 TIMES! We had to go on the course three times. It is very Tiring and was much harder then the school one! As soon as my race started I tried to pace myself my heart was pumping and I was getting very tired VERY once i was up to my last lap and on the finish line I sprinted and came thirteenth. Once we got back to school we were allowed to have a Ice Block "mm"  Over all the day was very fun except for the rain and wind.

Cross Country

On Wednesday the 11th of September we had Cross Country! Instead of having a normal Cross Country we decided to make it different by having a sponsor thing where you ask people if they will donate your school money if you do the Fun Run/Cross Country. The money goes towards your school our school is trying to raise money for a shade cover for our court. However you can win prizes if you raise enough money it starts form slime to a X Box!

All the year 6 had to be in another year level to help out. We went around in groups to different stations like obstetrical courses and skipping and a lot more we had 15 minutes in each station. My favourite part was the run. I came third place it was very tiring and very fun. Over all I loved the day. Look out zones here I come!

Maori God Art

Hi Bloggers!
This week we are working on drawing a Maori God for Te Reo Maori. The God has to look a bit like a God but it is your Imagination. When we have finished the design of our God we will make a better copy. We had the choice to chose out of

  1. Tane - God of Nature
  2. Tangaroa - God of Ocean/Sea
  3. Rongo - God of Peace and Architecture
  4. Haumia - God of Uncultivated Food and Wild Food
  5. Tu - God of Man and War
  6. Tawhirimatea - God of Wind and Storms.
I chose to draw Tawhirimatea. I decided to make mine a mixture of Thor and Tawhirimatea because I guess he is the God of Storms and there is lightning in storms.
I tried to make mine look like a Maori God so instead of a hammer I chose a hook.
Here is my work in progress.

School CAMP!

Hey Bloggers last week we had camp!
Leading up to camp
I was so exited when I woke up in the morning I was like the speed of lightning getting ready because I was so exited. We had to get to school by 7:30 because the bus left at 8:15
First of all to get ready we had to ...

  1. Make sure we had all the gear.
  2. Pack all of it in to our suit case.
I felt very exited and scared at the same time of falling in case I fell on my bum.
It took me a bit of time actually figuring out that were going to camp because we were just talking about it until that day.

At Camp
As soon as we got to The Crossing we unpacked our bag and had dinner.
That night for dinner we had sausages and garlic bread My favourite was the garlic bread. At bed time we talked for five minutes  and told spooky story's.

After we were ready to go to bed we got to go into the games room. It had a pool table a table tennis table and a hidden movie room Inside a cupboard. There were couches and a massive TV and bean bags.

Snow!
We woke up at six in the morning to have breakfast and get ready to leave for Mt Ruapehu!
I had cornflakes for breakfast then we got into our hot snow gear. After that we assembled into our groups. We were group pink.
This camp was at Mt Ruapehu where we learnt how to ski and snowboard. We got the choice  and I decided to go snowboarding. We picked it up in a couple of minutes. After our lesson we got free time on the slopes which was my favourite part!

You Should GO!
If you are a year 3 or 4 reading this make sure to consider telling your teacher to think about going to the snow because it is AWESOME! If you don't have enough money try to save up because it is worth it.
