Hi bloggers
On Friday we had Gumboot Friday. Gumboot Friday Is a mental health charity in NZ where we try to wear gumboots. The reason we wear gumboots is because when you are feeling a negative emotion it is like you are walking through mud. The give a little page has made $315,352.99 donated and there could be more!
Gumboot Friday Give A Little
We had the Healthy Puketapapa Student Questionnaire and one of the questions was what would make a good community. Several of the students said mental health. We also had to do a comment one of
the students said that sending letters with uplifting note’s would make our community better.
So on Friday we made cards, these cards were made to send to letter boxes. The cards had encouraging and uplifting notes on them that could brighten someone's day (eg) have a great day. We went in groups to send letters to our community we each took different streets. I had a great time sending the letters. On the next day we had a call to our school saying that someone’s child had got a letter and it uplifted him and he was affected by mental health the lady said it totally uplifted him! Which is great!
Because of that we think we might do this every term. I hope it helps more and more people. This is also great because it matches to our inquiry topic HAUORA - WELLBEING.

Special Assembly
Hi Bloggers
Last week we had a Special Assembly. It was about how in Christchurch there was a mass shooting it was at on the Friday the 15th of March. We had one minute silence to remember the people who died. The schools in Christchurch were in Lockdown for 4 hours. It has affected the whole of New Zealand. The Give a Little page has raised more than 9 million dollars so far.
We also did 2 minutes silence on our Community Fun Day. In Reading we made a goal for us to stop racism. We think that the gunman has been preparing for this for two years. He did this because his father died and he wanted to show New Zealand that no place in the world is safe. And he allso thought that muslims aren't allowed to live in New Zealand. But New Zealand is a place of peace and not racisim. We have also practised a lockdown because of what happened. We made cards and sent them to the police stations, hospitals, schools and faimiles who were affected and more. Here is a link to the Give a little page, please donate if you can.

Enviromantal Group
Hi bloggers
I joined environmental group this year! In the environmental group we made 100 kawakawa balms.
Kawakawa balm can heal scrapes, cuts and much more. We are also collecting worm wee from our worm farm which helps gardens and plants grow.
And last of all we are making wax wraps. Wax wraps are replacements for glad wraps and you can use them more than once.
They are smothered in beeswax which makes it easier fold and keeps it from reopening. The reason we are making all of these is because we are going to have a fundraiser down at Molly Green to help pay for camp which is happening in August.
It is very fun making all of these things in the environmental group. But the best thing about being in the environmental group is the meeting where Miss Daly brings the best treats!

Crome Music Lab
Hi bloggers!
For the last few weeks we've been doing well-being and music. We got to use this app called Chrome Lab. It is an app where you create music there are heaps of different kinds of music activities to do.
My favourite one is called Songmaker beats and then when you press 'play' it plays the music
I have created. I think it is very fun because sometimes when we finish our work we get to use it.

Football trials
This year I have football which I signed up for.
The teams have not been made yet but I hope I get in.
There are going to be two boy teams and one girl team. There will be around 7 people in each team.
We have practices on Thursday at morning tea. We sometimes do some drills and we always do a game.
There are some other things I might sign up for a like hockey and Orienteering. Last year I got into the
Hockey team and it was really fun that is why I want to get into the football team.
See ya blog you later.
